Last week, we announced that we were quietly expanding our focus with our name shift from Brand Driven Social to Brand Driven Digital. At the time we also noted the need to do this for big things we had coming in the year ahead. Today I’m pleased to announce one of them — our Social Strategy Boot Camp. This day-long interactive live workshop will help attendees develop actionable strategic plans for their social media efforts aligned with the goals and outcomes that matter most for their business. 

As we begin the last month of this year, many of us are looking ahead and planning for the new and exciting year on the horizon. What better time to take a focused look at your business’ social media efforts?

Social Strategy Boot Camp provides insight into topics such as establishing a business objective for social media, what you’ll need to accomplish that in terms of social channels, tools, and personnel, how to measure your success, ROI, and more. You’ll also receive one-on-one assistance in determining what makes the most sense for your brand. I’ll lead the learning modules while our Director of Social Strategy Macy Koch will lead the interactive discussion groups. The best part? You’ll leave the event with an actual social media strategic plan booklet for sharing with your team and leadership.

So, how will this work? The first Social Strategy Boot Camp will be held on January 24, 2013 at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. Cost for the all-day event is $95 through December 31st. After the first of the year, registration goes up to $115 (see that little incentive to plan ahead for the new year?). Because we have designed this as a more intensive and interactive workshop we are targeting a smaller head count. Be sure to register now to reserve your seat. Later in Spring 2013 we’ll be taking Social Strategy Boot Camp to Des Moines with other stops in the Midwest potentially to be announced at a later date.

The Social Strategy Boot Camp is a need that rose directly from the Social Brand Forum we convened earlier this fall. After the Forum, we took advantage of how excited people were and asked them what kind of social media programming we could provide. The response was a resounding call for a smaller event centered around ‘social media strategy’ where participants could gain insight and also talk through their issues and apply content to their business. We called this a Boot Camp because it will provide both intensive instruction and one-on-one interaction. It should be an exciting day of social media learning!
