What’s the Best Tool for Managing Twitter?

This week on Social Brand Chat presented by KXIC we discussed a question from Tim Holliday via Twitter: “What is your favorite tool for managing Twitter? Do you use the native Twitter app or another program?” What a great question! Let’s chat about this.

During this week’s podcast we took a look at how Twitter use has evolved since the network first emerged. In the beginning, most people accessed Twitter via a third-party client such as TweetDeck on the desktop or Tweetie for mobile use. Fast forward a few years later and Twitter acquired both TweetDeck and Tweetie. When you combine this with the fact that they put new restrictions on their API in place and Twitter-owned platforms are much more en vogue than they once were. A personal favorite is TweetBot for the app’s list management capabilities.

For this week’s social media news, we discussed a standout session of SXSW Interactive 2014 — Mark Schaefer’s Content Shock, outlining the challenge of increasing supply and the expected decrease in demand for all of this content we’re now creating. It was based on his recent blog post of the same name.

Speaking of content marketing … you should attend one of our upcoming Content Marketing Boot Camps in Cedar Falls, Davenport, Ames, and Madison. This daylong intensive and interactive workshop will help you be a better blogger, video marketer, podcaster, and content creator. Listeners of the podcast get access to a special group rate of $125 when they use promo code KXIC to register for any of our Content Marketing Boot Camps.
