How Do Social Media Editorial Calendars and Surveys Work?

social-brand-chat

This week on Social Brand Chat presented by KXIC we discussed not one but two questions. Our first came from a caller named Sally who wanted to know about social media editorial calendars. We also answered a question from a recent talk at Social Media Club Des Moines, “How often should you survey your customers?” Great questions. Let’s chat about both of these.

Holy Q&A, Batman! This week Jay and I got to answer two questions during the Social Brand Chat. In response to Sally’s question, we talked about some social media editorial calendar basics, which are also summarized nicely in this post.

We also answered how often you should survey customers. The answer? More often than you are! A sad stat tells us that 76% of us marketers feel that we know what customers want but only 34% have bothered to ask. You don’t have to pull together a focus group or travel to do this. Ask your audience for ideas and input as often as you can via Facebook and Twitter.

For this week’s social media news, we discussed some fun news from the world of social media. This week Merriam-Webster announced that they were adding “hashtag,” “selfie,” and “tweep” to the dictionary. Along with a few other fun words that Jay and I had a few laughs at.

Speaking of calendars … you should attend our last Content Marketing Boot Camp tour stop in Madison, Wisconsin on June 5th.
