Hello, On Brand Podcast. (Goodbye, Social Brand Chat.)

A new year brings many new things. One of the things that I’m most excited about is a new podcasting announcement. Recently, DJ Waldow and I hung up our headphones from our 100-episode run as hosts of The Work Talk Show. But I wasn’t done with podcasting. Not by a long shot. Today, I’m pleased to announce our newest project here at Brand Driven Digital — the On Brand podcast.

In scanning the podcasting marketplace, I saw a need. While there are several great podcasts on marketing, digital marketing, social media, content marketing, online marketing, search, and more (there are even podcasts about podcasting!), there isn’t a lot of content that focuses solely on the art and science of branding. A podcast that talks to both branding thought leaders and practitioners working in the trenches building unique brands. In short, a podcast for brand builders, by brand builders.

Introducing the On Brand Podcast

That’s the need we’re hoping to fill with the On Brand podcast. Each weekly episode will feature branding-focused conversations, actionable insights, and tips that listeners can implement right away. This new show will also take over as one of the primary forms of content found on the Brand Driven Digital blog.

We have a special new year’s treat to celebrate the launch of this podcast. While we’ll normally publish a new episode here every Monday (what a great way to start the week!), we’re publishing three (3) new episodes right here, right now. They’re great examples of what you can expect from this new show.

Next Monday, we’ll begin our regularly scheduled programming with another new episode featuring Ashley Butler of Chobani Greek Yogurt. Mondays will always include a new On Brand podcast. Wednesday will feature a blog post from myself or our amazing community of authors (you could write for us too, if you’d like). Which brings us to Fridays …

What About Social Brand Chat and the Radio Show?

Over the past year, I’ve kept the podcast feed afloat on Brand Driven Digital by publishing the five-minute radio show I do each week at KXIC in Iowa City. The radio show happens Wednesday morning while the podcast episode is published Friday. Overall, this will stay the same with one change.

Rather than having two disconnected podcasts brands here we’re folding the Social Brand Chat into the On Brand podcast. The radio show will now be called the Social Sound Bite and will still feature the latest news, trends, and tips for how to stay on brand (see what we did there?). This little five-minute audio snack will be published here on Fridays and help us set the stage for the main course On Brand podcast coming that following Monday morning.

Technically speaking, it’s the same podcast feed. If you were subscribed to the last show, you are subscribed to this show and all new episodes of On Brand. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can do that at both iTunes and Stitcher.

What Can You Do to Help?

Listen to the show! Seriously — that helps!
