Education: Why Business People Love Podcasts (Infographic)

While podcasting has long held the mantle as the “form of content most marketers need to learn more about” we’re now seeing that execs aren’t just listening passively. They’re actively learning. Moreover they really value this content. That’s one of the many things that Jay Baer and the Convince and Convert team discovered when they commissioned a new infographic on podcasts.

And Jay would know. Not only is he a seasoned host of not one but two podcasts (Social Pros and Jay Today), he also recently launched Marketing Podcasts, a new site dedicated solely to organizing, rating, and reviewing marketing podcasts making it easier for busy marketers to find new shows and learn more.

Before we transition to the stat-packed infographic (below), here are some of my favorite takeaways:

  • 1 in 3 Americans listen to podcasts
  • Half of podcast listeners are between the ages of 12 and 34
  • Listening to podcasts makes multi-tasking easy whether you’re driving, working out, or doing chores

And here’s the infographic in it’s entirety.

What do you think? What are your favorite podcasts for business education? Do you have plans to increase your brand’s podcasting efforts in the year ahead?

P.S. Jay and company are giving away a $600 pair of custom-fit ear buds over at MarketingPodcasts.com. These are the same ear buds worn on stage by just about every musician you know. They are ludicrously expensive, and they’re giving them away. No obligation. Enter now (contest ends Black Friday).
