Why Bother with Content Marketing?

This week on Social Brand Chat presented by KXIC we discussed a question from one of my online MBA students who asked, “With so many brands creating blogs, videos, and more, why even bother with content marketing?” As we’ve discussed before, content consumption is up, however, more brands than ever are jumping in the pool. Is this worth your time? Let’s chat about this.

This is an incredibly common question. Make no mistake about it — online consumers are now seeking out twice as much content in making their purchase decisions as they were just a couple years ago. That said, more and more brands are creating content. Will anyone even see your new blog or video series? The answer isn’t whether or not you should produce content or not. With consumers hungry for more information, they will get it somewhere and reward those brands who help them (your competitors?). The challenge is how to create remarkable content that stands out form the crowd. Listen to the show to hear our thoughts.
