This week on Social Brand Chat presented by KXIC we discussed some changes to the newsfeed algorithm and Facebook pages coming in 2015. These updates impact marketers using the world’s largest platform in both organic and paid capacities. Let’s chat about this.

Recent data from Edison Research have illustrated that many users are becoming frustrated at how promotional the Facebook newsfeed has gotten. When you’re the top social network, there’s only one place you can go (down!). To counteract this, Facebook is again preparing to alter their newsfeed algorithm.

Specifically, the social giant is suggesting that brands save their heavily promotional content (calls to action, download, order now, etc.) for paid Facebook advertising and keep their organic updates light and conversational. Now more than ever, it’s critical for brands to have a solid organic and paid strategy for Facebook. Listen to the show to hear the rest.
