This week on Social Brand Chat presented by KXIC we discussed a question from Hashim Warren: “How do you measure efforts to strengthen a brand?” In the end, we’re all brand builders in some form or another. Let’s chat about how to measure branding.

Branding is a big, abstract topic in an of itself. Likewise, measurement of any marketing and media can be equally confusing and contentious. So what happens when you combine the two? What happens when you talk about how to measure branding? While it’s certainly not simple, it is possible. On this week’s podcast we shared how brands of all shapes and sizes — from small local businesses to big corporations — can measure branding.

For this week’s social media news, we discussed a helpful update from Google on how you can integrate your local places pages with your Google+ brand page. Here are the details over at Search Engine Land. While this is a big step, it still doesn’t correct the challenge that many marketers have with multiple Google places pages that they’d like to merge.
